Haig-Brown Centenary:

2008 marks the 100th anniversary of the births of two exemplary British Columbians - conservationist and author, Roderick Haig-Brown and his wife Ann Elmore Haig-Brown.

The idea of the centenary is not only to recognize the Haig-Browns but also to animate and highlight the values and ideas they lived by and to acknowledge those in current and younger generations who are living those same values and reinterpreting what it means to be a conservationist in the 21st century.  It is also to celebrate the contributions of the Haig-Brown - the writings, knowledge and social activist values that informed their work to foster a deep respect for salmon, rivers, and the stewardship of natural values.
