DonationsThe Haig-Brown Institute gratefully accepts donations and donors will be issued a charitable tax receipt. Our charitable tax number is 897656450 RR0001. Online donationsThe Institute has chosen to work with CanadaHelps.org to process online donations. CanadaHelps.org, a non-profit, was set up in 1999 by two Canadian university students (http://www.canadahelps.org/Info/3/16/ss) who wanted to make it easy for charities to receive donations online. CanadaHelps.org deducts a 3.9 percent transaction fee from each donation to cover "all credit card merchant fees, transaction fees, banking costs, receipting, reconciliation and disbursement." The organization now facilitates the transfer of C$40 million in donations annually to registered Canadian charities.
